Cullen Gustafson

Assistant Safety Manager

Cullen Gustafson

What is your favorite project you worked on and why?

Ultragenyx in Bedford, Mass because the overall culture on the job was great, and the facility was being built to create a cure for Ultra Rare diseases, so you really felt what the push was for, and the work you were doing was going to help someone in the near future.

How did you get into construction?

As I grew up in a construction family, with my father being apart of the Laborers Union Local 721, and doing concrete foundations on the side, it was very easy for construction to be an interest of mine. Growing up I would constantly be helping him out with his side jobs and learning different aspects of construction. Although throughout most of high school I still had the thought criminology was going to be my major of choice. That quickly changed when I decided to go to Keene State. When I saw Keene State had Occupational Health and Safety for a major I knew that was for me, and from there the goal was to become a Construction Safety Manager.

Who or what inspires you?

My Father, he has always been a hardworking laborer to give our family everything we needed for life. He has also guided and pushed me in all the right directions, and taught me a lot of what I know, and I strive to be just as hard working as he is.

What is one thing on your bucket list and will you accomplish it?

One thing on my Bucket List would be to attend the Masters at Augusta National for the Sunday round. Golf has been a passion of mine for almost 10 years now, whether it was playing or watching. As most know the Masters is certainly one of the most popular professional golf tournaments, and one of the more difficult to get tickets to. I would love to go on Sunday, the final day to be able to witness some of the best golf there is, and the champion to be crowned of the Green jacket. Every year I will continue to apply for the tickets, and hope eventually I am lucky enough to get chosen to attend the Masters at Augusta National.
