What’s your secret talent that no one knows about?
Though it’s not really a secret, I’m a quilter. But even most of the people in my quilting groups don’t know that I’ve been sewing most of my life and can make almost anything. I made Christmas dresses for my nieces every year when they were young, costumes for Halloween and school plays, and prom gowns. I’ve made curtains, slipcovers, tablecloths, and toys. Once I even made a harp, tuba, and French horn!

Who, living or dead, would you like to eat dinner with the most? And why?
I would love to have dinner with my mother, for more reasons than I could list. But what I would really like to do is make dinner with my mom. It would be a great gift to spend that casual time together, just working and hanging out in the kitchen. Plus, my mom seldom used recipes and there are a couple of her dishes I never figured out how to make. This could be a great opportunity to pay attention – and maybe take some notes…

What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done?
One of the craziest things I’ve ever done was go to Fairbanks, Alaska – for three days! I’ve always wanted to see the northern lights, so when an opportunity presented itself, I jumped on it. I spent five hours each of the two nights I was there waiting on a mountain for the lights to appear. Fortunately, it eventually paid off! As a bonus, I also got to tour a kennel and go for a sled dog ride, another goal achieved.
