What is your favorite project you worked on and why?

A kitchen renovation…demolition was the most exciting part of the project. There is a LOT to be said about destruction and stress relief…it’s awesome! The amazement of how things were done 75+ years ago and to see the creativity and out-of-the-box thinking as well as the craziness of some of it was cool. The amount of detail in every phase of the renovation was insane but the most fulfilling part of it all was seeing the finished product.

How did you get into construction?

I am now into construction since I am at Commodore Builders but my mother always encouraged my husband and I to invest in real estate. After some discussion, we purchased our first property in the summer of 1998. We have been intrigued ever since with renovations and construction (from a residential perspective) for close to 25 years and have had our hands involved from day one. There has been lots of learning, doing and frustration over the years, but wouldn’t change it. On a related note, my father, and many of my relatives were landscapers, tradesmen and involved in construction.

Who or what inspires you?

Tim Tebow…I love the fact that he stands for his Christian faith, lives and applies the precepts of that faith in his daily living and has never been ashamed about it. He has been ridiculed for it by many in our culture and society and has even lost work opportunities for it, but he was all too happy to sacrifice all of it in the here and now for the latter reward. In seeing his steadfastness and perseverance encourages me to follow suit.

What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done?

Got the jitters and told my senior prom date a day or two before prom that I didn’t want to go to prom and I left for NY to visit family!
