Mike Clark

Vice President of Preconstruction & Planning

Mike Clark

What is your favorite project you worked on and why?
The Wequassett Resort renovation on Cape Cod.  The scope included a variety of new building types, infrastructure systems, landscaping, and amenities consistent with a 5-star resort.  The project was collaborative from the start with a team of talented designers, engineers, contractors, and craftsmen. Despite the challenges of budget and tight time constraints,   this spirit of teamwork from ownership down made the project a memorable experience.

How did you get into construction?
I’ve been interested in architecture and building things for as long as I can remember.  When it was time to think about college coming out of high school, I didn’t consider any other fields.  I thought I wanted to become an architect but through school and related work experiences, I realized it was building that I really enjoyed.

Who or what inspires you?
I would say good design or interesting artwork, especially things with complicated geometry.  Whether it’s a home project or for work, a lot of what we do is based on function, which is important; but having a good vision of the end product really drives my motivation to get things done.

What is one thing on your bucket list and will you accomplish it?
I don’t have a specific place in mind, more of a list; but I’d like to travel more.  My wife and I have 4 kids so that makes anything more than short trips challenging for a number of reasons.  It shouldn’t be too hard to accomplish if we can get past the college years first!
