What is your favorite project you worked on and why?

My favorite project was the Noble and Greenough Castle Project.  It was a renovation to an existing castle which was the summer home for railroad tycoon Albert W. Nickerson which was built in 1890.  In 1886 he commissioned the architectural firm of Henry Hobson Richardson and hired Frederick Law Olmsted’s firm to do the landscaping.  There was an addition to include a state-of-the-art dining facility.  The school, its faculty, and the construction team were amazing.

How did you get into construction?

I began working for my uncle when I was 13 doing small additions around Milton.  I attended vocational school to hone my craft.  During summers while I was in high school and college, I framed and sided houses working for my mentor, Gordon Arthur, of Arthur Building Co. in Canton.  He taught me most of what I know in residential construction.  From there I went to Wentworth Institute and began my Commercial Construction career after I graduated.

Who or what inspires you?

My Dad.  He taught me the importance of loyalty and work ethic.  He always did what he needed to do in order to do better for our family.  At one point he worked three jobs to be able to put me through school.  Even now as a retired executive chef he still works part time at Dedham Country & Polo Club as a baker to stay busy.  His drive and determination are what pushes me to be better.  His work ethic is what I inherited and makes me great at what I do.  I owe my career to my dad and my wife.  Without both of their sacrifices I would not be where I am today.

What is one thing on your bucket list, and will you accomplish it?

To travel the United States and visit every state.  I have currently visited 23 states in total.  I would love to accomplish this when I retire.
