John Federico

Vice President, Group Leader Strategic Projects Group

John Federico

John leads our teams that focus on projects with quick turnarounds combined with unique sets of challenges. He shares his 30 years of experience overseeing a wide range of renovation and fit-out work for clients in commercial, academic, and residential markets with his team so they can successfully deliver for our clients. John’s broad knowledge has been molded by his near two-decades of experience working as an owner of a GC firm. During this tenure, he worked almost exclusively with Harvard University and has contributed to renovation efforts for nearly every single residential dormitory on campus.

John challenges his team to consistently apply forward-thinking approaches and solution-focused attitudes to every project. John is a valuable resource and mentor for the junior members throughout the organization. He continually provides them the guidance and direction that they need to be successful in their own careers.

What’s your secret talent that no one knows about?
I have been a drummer since the age of 5.  Played with many bands and one of my highlights was performing with Roger Daltrey from the WHO at BB Kings in NYC at a Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp.

What is your favorite project you worked on and why?
Cramer Productions.  Loved the people and the team.  The project had some of the most interesting design elements that we have ever incorporated into a project.

How did you get into construction?
I started working with my Dad at the age of 13 as a mason tender and never looked back.

Who or what inspires you?
The pursuit of Excellence and the Ability to not give up.
