Northeastern University Snell Engineering Classrooms 108 & 168
110 Forsyth Street, Boston
About This Project
The Snell Engineering Center Classrooms renovation included the partial demolition and renovation of classrooms 108 and 168 on the first floor. The 6,600-sf project was completed on an expedited schedule and included the renovations of two 200-seat double-height auditorium classrooms, a student gathering space, and a tutoring suite. The gathering space was created from a repurposed storage and slab space, and now serves as a study space and thoroughfare through Snell Engineering Center.
Existing wall panels were left in place, refinished, and sliced to incorporate LED light fixtures, extending the reuse of existing materials. All construction was completed in an occupied building and featured upgrades to finishes, utilities, and AV systems, which required extensive preconstruction and logistical planning. The project also features a mural completed by Katy Ann Gilmore.
