This project included renovating the three-story Old Science Center and Filene Center into new classrooms and offices. The new departmental spaces encompass a Social Entrepreneurship Studio, Fab Lab and Makerspace, Academic Advising and Career Services, Business Management Suite, Psychology Suite, Computer Museum, classrooms, and Nursing Suite.
The Nursing Suite is home to Wheaton’s new nursing program, designed to train 200 full-time students. It has five simulation rooms, ICU, Med Surg, Labor & Delivery (with an infant), Home Health, Pediatrics, and exam rooms for learning.
Additional project upgrades included new curtainwall and storefront systems, exterior ADA improvements and landscaping, upgrades to the existing traction elevator, a new LULA elevator, and new MEP systems, including cooling towers, ERU’s, switchgear and transformers, generator and docking station, fire alarm, and sprinkler systems.
