What is your favorite project you worked on and why?
I have been fortunate enough to have worked on many great projects over my career, but my favorite was the expansion and renovation of the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. The project was a unique chance to work on a local institution with a storied past. We began preconstruction early in the design process and were able to work with the world-renowned designers for 2 years prior to the start of construction. Each brought unique construction techniques to the table, many of which were new to the Boston market. The project had many challenging features including, deep foundations, SOE, historic restoration, cast-in-place concert hall, art restoration laboratories, and a hybrid geothermal system. It was rewarding to see this project from start to finish.

How did you get into construction?
My path into the field of construction started in college. I studied Architecture at Boston Architectural College and Wentworth but when I took my first job, it was clear to me that I was better suited for the field of construction. I was in a CMST program in 1999 and I never left the Estimating Department. I had a great mentor and I took to it right from the start.

Who or what inspires you?
I am inspired by people who put in a hard, honest day’s work, regardless of what it is that they do for a living. Being a team player and having a strong work ethic while also maintaining a balanced life outside of work is not always easy, but it’s a great goal.

What is one thing on your bucket list and will you accomplish it?
I would love to take each of my 3 daughters to Italy one day. Ideally, I would love the one-on-one time with each of them but going together might make it easier to accomplish!
