Mike came to Commodore Builders in 2016 from a national law firm, where he was a partner in the insurance and litigation practice groups. He has over 25 years of experience as an attorney. Before Commodore, Mike also worked at Willis Towers Watson, a global insurance broker. He obtained the Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation from the American Institute for CPCU in 2007. As General Counsel, Mike oversees legal, regulatory, compliance, safety, insurance, surety, and enterprise risk matters.

Mike is active in a variety of construction, insurance, and legal industry professional associations including AGC, CPCU, IRMI, and RIMS. He is a frequent speaker at peer groups and industry events focused on legal, risk, and insurance topics. He is a member of the Insurance Library of Boston.

What’s your secret talent that no one knows about?
NCAA Division 1 Diver at Providence College.

What is your favorite project you worked on and why?
I worked on an investigation and prosecution of a cocaine trafficking ring between Jamaica and Boston as an intern at the U.S. Attorney’s Office Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force during law school in the late 90’s.  This was a big deal for me at the time because my most exciting job to date had been cashier at Blockbuster Video.

How did you get into construction?
My father was a construction attorney for the City of Boston.  I went to the same high school, college and law school as he did.  I guess I ultimately followed his path in my career as well.

What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done?
I plead the Fifth.
