Our Engineering & Technical Services (ETS) Division elevates the construction experience for our project teams and clients. We drive project success by applying our extensive engineering experience, proven processes, and cutting-edge in-house technology to expedite the construction process and to carefully control the outcome.
The construction process presents challenges that, if left unchecked, can result in costly delays. Our team of engineers, architects, and technicians eliminates surprises and develops solutions that provide time and cost savings. We do this by leveraging our knowledge of construction and engineering, along with our capabilities in virtual design and construction (VDC), and technology capabilities.
Our comprehensive range of VDC and construction technology services includes:
- Laser-scanning: We use laser scanning to provide rich, three-dimensional point clouds of existing conditions that can be directly integrated into the BIM model, either to assist in the coordination process or to inform design for retrofit projects.
- Ground penetrating radar (GPR): We use GPR to locate underground utilities and to pinpoint rebar, conduit, etc. encased in floor slabs prior to core-drilling. This technology saves time, improves safety, minimizes unexpected conflicts, and avoids unnecessary utility relocations.
- Drone photography: We pilot drones to provide aerial photography to create detailed site models using photo mapping, which aids in cut-and-fill calculations, 3D logistics planning, and time lapse progress documentation. By using progressive file-sharing applications, we can successfully preserve transparency and enhance collaboration on our projects.
- 3D Coordination: We use a technology-driven coordination process to provide data that ensures quality control, improves the experience for our trade partners and guarantees a successful turnover to our clients. Our methodology fosters better collaboration among all project team members to create success from the initial design through to the final-built product.
