The TJX Companies New Dining Facility and Outdoor Terrace

Conversion of an existing office area into TJX’s new corporate dining facility and outdoor terrace. The commercial kitchen, servery, and coffee bistro required widespread utility upgrades and relocations. All modifications were carefully systematized as to not conflict with the fully operational office building. Scope also included the construction of a new landscaped exterior terrace off the third floor. The terrace contains glass wind shield barriers, seating areas, modern lighting, and built-in propane fireplaces. New mechanical systems to support the servery and kitchen were installed with the help of heavy BIM modeling utilization in preconstruction.

• 9-month schedule
• Required extensive drainage installation on the 2nd floor.
  Servery and kitchen features exposed ceilings with acoustical treatments on the existing deck
• Conversion necessitated new roof equipment dunnage, roof mounted AHUs, make-up air units, a refrigeration compressor, exhaust fans, and vertical ventilation systems
• Installation of 16×9 ft video wall in the servery for employees to enjoy
• Complete upgrade to the finishes in an adjacent atrium
