What’s your secret talent that no one knows about?

I used to paint when I was younger and even produced work attractive enough to have it hanging in my family home’s living room as decor. Most of the drawings and visual exercises that I did while in Architecture school are currently hanging on the walls of my home. People typically never really suspect it was me who painted and drew them.

Who, living or dead, would you like to eat dinner with the most? And why?

My paternal grandfather. He died while my father was still an infant, thus I never met him. There are so many questions I would have liked to answer, such as the history of our family and more.

How did you get into construction?

As a freshman in college, I was undecided as to what career path I would take. Originally, I wanted to go with Architecture, but some institutional requirements forbid me from studying that in school. Then, I looked at engineering and decided that was not for me. Finally, I came across the construction management department at my school, and I was immediately hooked by the variety of classes, which blended everything from business, architecture, and engineering into one. This was the push I needed to enter the construction industry.

Ever since I have leaned towards construction the most, and even after taking a detour through the architecture world by getting my master’s degree in that discipline, I still stand by my belief that construction suits me the best.

What is one thing on your bucket list and will you accomplish it?

The top thing on my bucket list is to be able to travel to every continent. I have only been in two so far, but I am looking to increase that number next year!
