Who, living or dead, would you like to eat dinner with the most? And why?

There are so many… Of the living I would choose Neil deGrasse Tyson, he is smart man with a sense of humor. From those who have passes on, I would choose Yogi Berra, as I have always felt that baseball players are uncharacteristically smart and great story tellers.

What is your favorite project you worked on and why?

Alcatraz Island Seismic Upgrade to the Cellhouse & Hospital Wing. Amazing complex, logistically challenging and I spent a year on an island in San Francisco Bay working on a historically important property for the National Park Service.

How did you get into construction?

When I was younger, I began renovating my apartment in New York City as a way to entice my girlfriend to move in with me. I made cabinets and furniture and thought I would love to do this if someone paid me. Before I knew it, I was making furniture for a living and eventually a developer hired me to supervise a project. I guess you could say, I fell into it.

What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done?

The craziest thing I have done, and still continue to do, is race a vintage motorcycle that I have put together myself. I try and race it as fast as I possibly can – and the feeling never gets old. I don’t get to do as often as I’d like.
