Who, living or dead, would you like to eat dinner with the most? And why?

Anthony Bourdain. He had seen and experienced some of the most unique locations and cultures on earth, and had a perspective on life, love, food, and how we humans live that was molded by that. It would be fascinating to pick his brain.

What is your favorite project you worked on and why?

INOVA Fairfax / Gallows Road Improvements, Fairfax, VA. This was a small roadway widening / traffic improvement project that I worked on while I was with Shirley Contracting in Northern Virginia. It was the first project that I was able to take the lead on, and oversee my (very small) team and crew. The highlight of every week was on Friday afternoon after the crew finished for the day, they’d break out the grill and make tacos for everyone who stuck around.

How did you get into construction?

My grandfather was a surveyor and later the Director of Public works in his town, and he always encouraged me to pursue engineering and construction. He inspired me to study Civil Engineering and then enter a career in construction management.

What is one thing on your bucket list and will you accomplish it?

There is so much in this world that I want to see and experience, but topping that list is seeing the Northern Lights.
