This project was executed by A.J. Martini, Inc. prior to being acquired by Commodore in 2012.
A.J. Martini, Inc., was the construction manager for this new 64,000 SF research facility located at Saint-Gobain’s Northborough, MA campus. It expands the company’s Research & Development center with additional laboratory, office and meeting space. The 200 scientists and engineers occupying the new space specialize in ground-breaking research for high-performance materials and technologies that promote energy efficiency in buildings. The building has R&D lab space on the first floor, with an open office plan on the second and third floors.
The LEED Gold building incorporates environmental features including a cool roof that reflects heat, insulation products that foster superior acoustical and thermal control, ceiling tiles with high light reluctance and gypsum board that provides fire, mold and moisture resistance. The window glass for the new building was manufactured by Saint-Gobain.
