When Hebrew Senior Life updated their first independent senior living community, they turned to the familiar team of DiMella Shaffer and Commodore Builders to complete the interior master plan renovation. The team collaborated on the design and execution of a relaxed, contemporary spa-like environment for residents. The 30,000 SF, occupied renovation was completed in five phases over the course of one year.
The project included extensive work in the reception and lobby areas, as well as in the library, Pavilion and the Pequit Dining Rooms, Fitness Center & Yoga Studio and in the Art Gallery. A new water feature was installed in the Vitality 360 Lounge & Fitness Center to create a peaceful and soothing environment. An art gallery was built to showcase the diverse talent of more than 40 resident artists on campus.
During construction, Commodore provided the residents and staff of Hebrew Senior Life with continuous updates so residents were fully informed when and where construction was taking place. Because corridors and common areas adjoined the construction space, meticulous communications was required to ensure the safety and comfort of residents.
